A positive point of an established religion is that everyone would be the same religion, so there would be fewer disagreements on certain topics. A negative point is that people would be forced to follow and practice a religion, even if they don't believe in that religion. I could work if it were done right, but that never happens.
If the U.S. had an established religion, then one positive aspect would be that everyone would celebrate the same holidays, and go to the same churches. No one would argue about which religion was superior, and everyone could practice their religion publicly without getting criticized. A negative aspect would be the same thing. There would be no variety, and it would get boring. It probably could work, but only if everyone agreed on a religion to begin with.
If the United States had an established national religion then a positive point that could come from this could be that making decisions within the country regarding religious views. Mostly everyone would be on the same page so decision would be easy to make regarding laws ect. This could also be a negative thing because the country would not be well rounded and the discussion being made may not be in the citizens best interest. If the country really wanted to have an establish religion it is posable but the men and women in charge would have to be extremely bright and know what they are doing to help the people living there.
If the US ever decided to establish a one-religion rule, I don't think that it would work at all. If this did happen there would be people protesting and getting angry with society about how they would want to practice another religion. If in school children had to read the bible and they weren’t Christian, they would refuse the study of the bible and or go home and tell their parents that they were forced to read the bible and the parents wouldn’t be happy about it. Overall I think that a one-religion rule is not a good idea for the US.
one positive point to a established religion is that everybody will share the same religion so there will be less religious arguments. a negative point is that people wont be able to express there religious beliefs. overall i think the best is a non established religion. I think a established religion would just have to many problems.
A positive out come would be that there's not a lot of conflicts between different religions, because every one would be the same. A negative outcome would be that every would be very similar. There would be a lot of restrictions on how they could express them self. You can only express the established religion. Yes it could work, but it would be very difficult. Every one would argue and then there would be a big problem!! Lot of people would be unhappy and this country would turn awful.
If the U.S. established a religion then many people would be angry that they were be excluded from the country and were from now on seen as outcast. Maybe more people would join into the established religion and they wouldn't criticize the religion as much. Yet I don't think an established religion could ever work.
A positive outlook on having an established religion would be that their would be very fewer disagreements or court cases involving the freedom of religion and the restrictions of that. A negative outlook on a established religion is that people would be forced to follow a certain religion and by doing that it is taking away their freedom. I think it is very important to give people their choice of freedom because their religious outlook is how they choose to run their life and you cant take that away from people. I do not see an established religion working in the United States just of the pure reason of just the amount of people in this country that it would be impossible to enforce correctly the established religion and would be much easier if it was freedom of religion just like it is now.
I believe that an an established religion could not work in the United States. There are lot of reasons why but here are a few. I would not work because one, the government would not be able to choose what religion. A don't think there will be any positives.
One negative point of a society with a established religion would be that different laws would apply to different people depending on their religion. For example, India's laws state "separate personal law codes apply to Christians, Hindus, and Muslims". A positive point of established religion would be that the religious conflicts would be easier to solve. I think that an established religion could work, but it would depend on how strict the government was on that topic. I feel that something similar to India's system would work fairly well.
One positive aspect on an established religion would be that citizens following the religion would understand everything about it and be much larger participants in the religion. A negative aspect to an established religion in the United States would be revolt and argument. If families were forced to follow a religion that they didn't believe in they might want to do something about it. I do not think that it would work in the United States because America is made up of immigrants from many different countries and therefore an established religion would mean trouble for the many different races.
If the United States were to form an established religion, the results would vary greatly. Assuming the U.S. were to choose the most common American religion, it would most likely be Catholicism. One positive of having a designated religion is that, on top of the masses of people who are already catholic, just about another third of the country would convert for governmental favoritism-related reasons. this would would possibly reduce religion-based disagreements. however, i think that a country that so strongly clings to it's freedoms and equality, such obvious manifestation of favoritism would shock, and then infuriate many citizens. not only all those who are not this designated religion, but I'm sure many righteous Catholics as well would be outraged by this decision. it may perhaps have worked when our country was first established, but we are far too deep into freedom to be thrust into another belief system.
A positive outcome of an established religion is that there would be no fighting about which religion is better. There would be no confusion as to what holidays schools have off, because everyone would celebrate the same holiday. However I do not think that an established religion would work, because there are just to many religions in the country and it could cause a lot of resentment leading to increased racism.
One positive with the U.S establishing a religion is that with the people within the religion they would not have to fight on which religion to choose and also everybody would be the same. The negative aspect is that if people would come from different countries and try to change us we would probably go to war or exclude them from the U.S
If the united states were to have an established religion, one positive outcome would be, there would be much less discrimination towards everyone because everyone would practically be the same. When i say "same" i dont mean everyone would look the same and do the same things but, everyone would have the same attitude towards eachother because they believe in the same thing. One negative outcome would be not everyone believes in god. Those who dont believe in the established religion would go threw a series of hardships. Having an established religion in the U.S would never work because there would be to much controversy and not everyone would fit in.
A positive outcome could be that the United States would have no more conflicts regarding religious symbols being erected because there would now be one religion that is able to do what they want. A negative outcome is that many people would be angered by the fact that their religion isn't protected anymore even though this country was founded on the principles of freedom.
One positive aspect of having an established religion would be that there would be no confusion between people about what you can represent and show which would avoid many Supreme Court Cases. A negative aspect would be that there would be a lot of conflict would arise, not everyone beleives in one religion and some people might not want to follow the rule of having an established religion. Personally I beleive that an established religion would never work in our country.
Positive: If i were part of that religion i would like it becuase they are almost permoting what i would want. Negative:If i wernt part of that religion i would dislike it very much becuase i would be forced to learn and talk about that religion. Which is not a good thing if i wern't part of the religion. In America, we kinda alreayd have an established religion. On the coin its says "IN GOD WE STRUST." In "god," it only says god. So isnt that really alreayd establishing a religion?
One positive aspect of having an established religion is that there would probably a lot less arguing about religion and there wouldn't be any cases involving freedom of religion. A negative aspect is that a lot of people that believe in a different religion besides the established religion would fled from the country. I may work and may not work we would have to see who and how they do it.
A positive outcome on having an established religion would be that making decisions as a nation regarding religious views would be more easy and efficiently decided. The majority of the Country would be on the same page so finalizing decisions or laws as to point or religion or other laws in general would work a lot better. A negative point about an established religion in the United States is that people who do not want to convert into the established religion will make a commotion and start protests/boycotts to disband the enforced religion. I do not believe that an established religion in the United States would work. There are to many people out their with different views of religion that should be free to express how they see the world.
Positive: I think that everyone would have the same holidays and have similar schedules with religious requirements and such. It would be simpler that way. Negative: I think because pretty much everyone would be the same that it would get kind of boring. I always like to get to know people when i first meet them and i think that religion/ non-religion makes up a large portion of a persons personality.
If the U.S. had an established religion, one positive outcome would be that a majority of the citizens would agree on religious topics. A negative outcome would be that not as many people would want to live to our country that didn't follow our religion. It probably would not work because a lot of people came/come to our country for religious freedoms, and that would be taking our rights away.
One positive thing about an established religion is that in some parts of the country there would be almost no conflicts of a religious nature. The obvious negative side to an established religion is that the minorities would be treated poorly, they would be considered inferior compared to the members of the established religion. You might think that since this is 2011, people are better than that. But there are still people out there that just want to feel superior to someone. I think that an established religion could work if the minorities were given a say in our government, and an unbiased set of laws to protect them from hate crimes.
A positive outcome of an established national religion in the United States would be that everyone would be the same religion so you would celebrate the same holidays, and not as many disagreements.
A negative outcome of an established religion would be that everything would have a very one sided opinion.
