Well I feel my project is great! We got off topic the first couple of classes when we first started this project, and had to many hopes of who we could interview. I feel if we had gotten more interviews sooner it would have really helped and taken stress off. I stress a lot especially on tests and project, but this was a lot of fun. Taking to people i would have never talked to i think in my life was a different experience and they were so nice. Our intro is a bit sad but are interviews are solid. Overall i did not hate this project and think is was a learning experience.

I feel good about my project, we had some issues along the way but it is all good now. I have learnt more about team work. We are a good group, and we work well together. My interview caused a few issues, because I had the wrong side, but we fixed it and got some new interviews. I really enjoyed this project

I am very confident about my project. The most enjoyable part of this project for me was interviewing Ethan and Bob Duff, and editing the video with Kaela and Jason. I learned a lot about working as a team and everyone giving in equal participation to a project. I am definitely more comfortable with group projects because I like working with other people on projects so everyone can share their ideas. I learned to plan the interviews an advance so the person can absolutely do it at the time you want. I think that we could have had a few more live interviews in our project so most of it isn't audio but other than that I think our project is great!

Overall, I really enjoyed this project. A new skill that I learned from doing this project, is distributing the work evenly so everyone can contribute to the assignment. I am feeling more comfortable with group projects and I enjoy them now. I do because it gives everyone a great opportunity to share their ideas and give their opinions. Also, you can learn new things from your partners. The only thing I wished we would have done earlier, was start setting up the interviews sooner

I feel good about my project. It was a lot of fun to make an iMovie, and I would like to do this kind of a project again. I learned a lot of things. There was a lot of collaboration and teamwork necessary to make this project successful, and I learned how to communicate better. I also learned a lot of editing skills and I learned how to research certain information (in this case it was videos) and twist some of their words around to make them say what you want them to. I have always liked group projects because they are a lot of fun, and this project made me feel even more comfortable with group projects because our group worked so efficiently. I learned for every billion dollars in goods that we export, we create five thousand jobs. I heard this from one of the C-SPAN videos. I think our group worked pretty efficiently, but we could have been a little bit more productive in class, so we wouldn't have had to stay after school, but overall it was fine. I had a lot of fun with this project and I hope we do more projects like this in the future.

To start, i really liked this project. The part I enjoyed the most was that, i got to interview and speak to very important people around this area. I spoke with the mayor of Bridgeport, and a bunch of secretaries of the mayors. The most important new skill that I learned from this project way definitely being able to speak and interview someone, I've always have had trouble speaking in groups and to someone important, and this project helped me face my fear. I am not feeling more comfortable or less comfortable with group projects because I have done group projects my whole life and I have always loved working on them. One important fact that I learned from this project is that for every billion dollars we export to other countries we create over five thousand jobs. I don't think there is anything that could make this project better, this was one of my favorite projects ever.

I did really enjoy this project. I think the most enjoyable part of this project was interviewing many different people, because it is great to view other people's perspectives on intervening. A new skill I have learned with this project is to take chances, because when interviewing people if you just email the person they might say yes, no matter who they are or how busy they are. I am feeling more comfortable with group projects, because you learn to work with everyone, and it will be easier to work with anyone moving forward. I don't think anything could have made this project better it was very fun!

I am confindent on me and my groups project. I think my communication skills are getting better from this project. I felt our group did a good thing by not craming all the interviews at the end. I usually stress on projects but this one i didn't because we were prepared and didn't do everything at the last minute. I thought this project was a really fun project.

I really liked the movie project because you can edit it however you want and make some part different than what they were originally. I learned how to work efficiently with my group even though we might not have been very good friends. Yes, I feel a lot more comfortable with group projects because once everyone in your group is working, it gets really easy. One thing I learned rom researching and creating the movie was to get your interviews first and don't wait until the last moment. A thing we could have done differently is, we could have gotten more interviews sooner and added it to the movie sooner.

I think the most enjoyable part of this project for me was getting to interview the Connecticut State Senator. It was so interesting seeing his point of view and such an important topic and I loved meeting him. I think I learnt many new skills while doing this project, but I think the most important one is to trust your group members. When I first got my group members I got quite nervous and I didn't know if I would end up doing all the work or not. I was the leader of our project and assigned one of my group members quite a lot of research. I didn't expect him to do it all so I assigned more than I needed. On Monday when I got to school, he told me he did all the research and highlighted everything. I was so shocked and I learnt that I really should have trusted my group. I feel slightly more comfortable with group projects now, but I still prefer working alone or choosing partners. I feel like we spent so much time trying to figure out everyones time schedule and who would do what. It was really time consuming and stressful. While doing the iMovie I learnt a lot about our relations with Afghanistan and I now know that we went in their to stop a major threat. I fully understand our involvement in Afghanistan now. The one thing I wished that was changed about the project was the length. 5-6 minutes may not seem like a lot, but it takes so much work to make it interesting. I wish it was only 3-4 minutes as it would have been much less work but we still would have learnt a lot. Overall, I feel confident about my group's project and what we have accomplished and I am thoroughly surprised about how much I enjoyed this project.

I think that we learned how to properly and respectfully interview people. Also, using your time efficiently for this project is necessary, because if you contact the mayor the day before the project's due date, he may not be able to meet with you. Lastly, I think that in order for the groups to be more efficient, we should be able to choose the people we work with.

I think the best part of this project for me was interviewing my cousin, Mackenzie Eaglen Wooters. I thought it was very interesting to see what she believed in but before I went into the interview, I knew she was going to say that she would be all for going into other countries because she was Romney's defense advisor! I don't feel more or less comfortable with group projects because I have been working on group projects my whole life in school so I am very used to them and I personally like them better than individual projects. One thing that we didn't do in the project was remembering when the due date was. It wasn't that we weren't productive or we procrastinated, but we worked productively and once it was the week before the project was due, we only had one interview! Once we knew that the due date was coming up, we got moving! Overall, I feel very good about our project and I am very confident with this subject in History because I know that i REALLY learned a lot and I now know so much more than I did before the project.

At first I had really high hopes for my group. We hada nice layout a idea of who we would interview a stuff of sorts. Even though we decided we would not have a leader one member decided he was our dictator. What we were focusing on changed without me knowing. This is why I don't like group projects. The project would of been better if we able to choose our partners. I was told that what I had one was not enough and that the clips I found (6) were not good enough. This experience has not changed my perception towards group projects.

I feel my group project is going well. We do have a little bit of a communication error but once we got passed that it was all smooth. I am definitely feeling better about group projects in general and i think the next one will go even smoother. We learned a lot from the political figures we interviewed. One hurdle of our group was everybody that we interviewed was conservative so we didn't get to see both perspectives. To make the project better we could have gotten more interviews or the same amount just make it more diverse.

The most enjoyable part of this project is seeing our teams work come out and turn into a very good video. The most important new skill that I have learned in this project is to think about who you are interviewing and what helpful insight they could provide. I have always felt pretty comfortable with group projects. But I actually do not feel any more comfortable with group projects because this one was very difficult to communicate especially when the final project is on one computer. One important fact that I learned during my research was that there was plenty of indication that al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups were a real threat before 9/11. I feel that the U.S. should have been more proactive in weakening al-Qaeda before 9/11 and possible could have avoided that horrible disaster. I have also learned that my iMovie skills are not that fantastic and in the future I want to learn how to use those kinds of tools better. I think our group could have been more proactive at the right as Mr. Lewis introduced the project. I think my group felt that 20 days was more than enough time to do the project but it turned out we could have gotten interviews, pictures and materials much early to re leave so stress.

I feel confident about my groups protect. We worked hard throughout all the class periods to get as much work done as possible. Usually projects Just cause a ton of stress and it is never fun. But with this project I actually enjoyed because I learned much more about 911.I felt that on the first day when our group was coming up with roles such as the leader, the writer and other jobs we stuck to them throughout the whole project. It made it a lot easier knowing exactly what to do all the time.

One new important skill I learned while working on this project would have to be get everything set up in the beginning so it's a lot easier for the rest of the way. The most enjoyable part of the project for me was probably looking for pictures for the intro because all we did was look for pictures and it was fun to find some of the really good ones. I have always felt comfortable with group project and this ones no different. Everyone's contributing as well which is nice. One important fact i learned while working on this project is that there aren't many countries that the US hasn't helped. Whenever I would search for what countries the US had assisted, answers like "the question is what countries haven't they helped," would be the regular reply. If we could find some way to actually get the search results on google that we want a higher percent of the time it would be better. Also if we got to interview all the people in person so the video isn't shown though a little box, it would look better.

the skill i learned was communication which is essential for group projects. the most enjoyable part of the project was interviewing the chief at the stamford police department. my feelings for group projects have not changed i still feel comfortable with them. i learned that during the 9/11 attacks people jumped from over 100 stories high. the project would have been able to interview the people in person.

I believe that the most enjoyable part of this project was interviewing people and finding out their opinions and trying to convince them to go along with our answer. A skill that I learned is to not procrastinate for the first few days or else it is going to be a mess. Our project learned from this and we had to work harder at the end. I like group projects because we get to cooperate with our classmates and it is really fun. I learned that taking time to find people to interview them takes a long time and you can not, can not, just stick to the same person. We have to keep moving on. And if you can't find anyone, incorporate creative stuff like videos or pictures to make your project interesting.

I feel good about my project, our video really came together after a slow start. The most enjoyable part of making the movie was editing the clips with my group. While working on the project I learned to communicate and collaborate more. The skills I learned made me feel more comfortable with groups projects. To improve, I believe my group could have gotten more interviews and done more research. Overall, we did a great job on our iMovie.

Anonymous said...

I thoroughly enjoyed this project as communication and cooperation were put to the test. The most enjoyable part of this project was executing the interviews for me personally. The most important new skill that I learned was probably communication and the act of speaking out. I am slowly starting to feel more comfortable with group projects as this has sharpened my knowledge of how to properly discuss a topic with someone and I am sure that future projects will greatly help my regular life. I believe that the guidelines were good for the project and the time frame is just right.

This project was a great one to bond as a group. The most enjoyable part was making the video finding things to put in. The new skill I learned was if you have a suggestion, reach out to your other members no matter what. Now I feel more comfortable knowing how to reach out to other members. One fact I learned was that during 9/11, people actually jumped from the towers to get away from burning to death. One thing we could have done better was the interview choices because I believe we should have found more important people and people who actually have part in world interaction.

I feel like my project was great. We had a lot of interviews which some were individual. I haven't learned more about team work but i did learn more about I movie. I really enjoyed the project and think it was a learning experience

For me the most enjoyable part of the imovie project was probably interviewing Mike Barbis, and Bob Duff. This is because I found it fasinating to listent to their perspectives on the us interviening in world affairs as;public officials (state senator/bored of ed); as some one who was in the north tower on 9/11; and simply from a civilians view. In interviewing these two men I learned that one very important skill one can have is to know how to properlry interview a person. Wen interviewing you must know how to be flexible with your questions. The questions you write to prepare with you should know by heart, and the should be basic, open-ended, guidline questions that can be built off of with other questions easily depending on what the answer to the question or previous question is.You also have to beable to come up with questions that will get the person to say something that you want. Mr. Lewis showed me this during my interview with Bob Duff when he brought us a question in the middle of the interview. we got a lot of perfect lineswith that question. I am slightley more comfortable with group projects, as long as there is a way to make them hold up their end. If they dont hold up their end of the projects from the begining then you end up wasting more energy on getting them to work then acctualy doing the project. I learned that although alot of people were killed during 9/11 alot of people were also suppose to be their that day but instead were put in unique siduations that kept them from being in the towers that day. There isnt musch I would change about this project. I suppose that more time in class would be helpful although the time we had was sificient for me.

I really liked my group and I thought we worked well together. A new skill that I learned while working on this project is how to interview. Sticking to a script in an interview is not a great option, and I learned how to come up with questions on the spot. If the project had been due on Friday, my group would not have finished. One important thing I learned is to not wait for the last minute to finish a project. My group had only two interviews and 34 seconds on movie on iMovie on Wednesday. I feel just as comfortable with group projects as I was before. If a group has a good leader and someone to keep your group in check, I think that any groups projects can go smoothly. I don't think there would be anything to add to or take away from the project to make it better.

Anonymous said...

The project was fun for me because my group worked well together. We edited the video well and I feel confident about our project. One skill I learned during this project was to trust your teammates and what they are doing, and to not take all the work on yourself. In other group projects it was my decision to do all the work and it made me stressed, but in this project I trusted my teammates and we all did work and researching together. I feel more comfortable with group projects because my group worked well together. We didn't procrastinate and leave all the work until the end, which allowed us to spend our class times working on editing instead of waiting for interviews. One thing I think is important to remember during a group project is that it isn't a competition. No one is competing to see who can get the best interviews, it only matters that your group tried their best and made a good movie. One fact I learned is that the rescue and recovery clean-up of the 1.8 million tons of wreckage from the World Trade Center site took 9 months. I don't think anything could have been changed in the project, it worked out well.

Our overall group project was a success. I enjoyed working with other students to create an i movie. One of the most entertaining parts of this project was seeing how all of our ideas and research were able connect through our video. I personally have taken away many skills by participating in this project. These skills have benefit me technically and socially. I learned to be patient, cooperative, and helpful with my piers. Furthermore, with those skills I have gained I definitely feel more prepared and or comfortable for upcoming group projects. Since our group decided to focus our project towards the memorable event of 9/11 I have obtained a tremendous amount of information regarding that event. I learned how the US reacted towards that tragic event and the impact that it had on our foreign policy. Despite some of the miscommunications my group may have encountered, our overall teamwork lead us to a successful project.

This video project for me was a lot of fun because I think that our video was a major success. The part that i enjoyed the most would definitely be interviewing because i had the opportunity to talk to and get to know an economist and a political affairs specialist from my dad office. My comfort with group projects has not really changed because of this particular project. I have always been content with group activities because I like to work with other people. From watching our tech person work with all the videos, I think I have learned a lot more about computers then I did before we started this project. I also learned that if the US was not the world police then close to no one else would be able to step up and take the responsibility of that role. Overall, I do not think anything could have been done differently in this project because we all worked to our extent and used our individual specialties to impacted the result of our video.

1. the most enjoyed the cration of our movie. since i was in charge of putting all tough tether on iMovie i enjoyed that
2. I learned about the importance of teamwork as well as how to put together a documentary
3. yes because i feel that there was good communication in this project
4.?
5. yes we could have distributed our jobs better

The most enjoyable part of the project was editing it and being able to get really creative with the video
How to export an iMovie into quicktime
I have always felt comfortable working in a group with others and I think as an outcome our video will be successful
That 67% of the Jewish population died in WWII
No, I feel like our video is strong and really gets our point across

1. That we got to interview many interesting people.
2. How to get in contact with important people, such as the people we interviewed.
3. Yes because I learned to work with new people.
4. That most Americans would choose to not intervene in foreign affairs.
5. I think we should be able to choose our partners in the future to get more done.

I very much enjoyed the group project! For me, the most enjoyable part was editing the video with kelly, anisha, and d'aeren. A new skill that i learned is compromising. I learned that if you have one idea in your head, share it with the group and modify it to everyone's liking. Now, I feel much more comfortable with group projects because I know what to expect. One thing that we could have done differently, is our interviews. I feel like if we got them done earlier, than it would have left us more time to edit. All in all, the project was very educational and enriching.

The most enjoyable part of this project for me was interviewing people and hearing their opinions on our questions. The most important new skill that I learned was that be a leader and telling people what to do is very effective so then there less time to spend on that. I am more comfortable working on group project now because I learned new skills to use. I learned how to use quicktime and how to convert it into iMovie. One thing to make this project a bit better was that if we didn't do our interviews at the last minute.

Anonymous said...

The most enjoyable part of the project was hearing different peoples views on US foreign policy. I liked questioning peoples thoughts and hearing their own opinions. The skill I learned was figuring out how to get people to say what you want them to say. It was interesting figuring out how to make your wording different so you get the person you are interviewing to say what you want them to without them knowing. I am feeling more comfortable in my groups because they are doing what they should to. It is nice knowing what they should be doing by using the position paper we filled out. The important fact I learned was that 9/11 was the biggest crime scene in US history. I think the project went smoothly and that there really was not anything that could have been done to make it better for me and my group.

The IMovie project was very fun. The most enjoyable part was interviewing the different people I learn a lot from doing that. The most important new skill was how to work with people that don't agree with you and how to work around that. I would say I'm a little more comfortable working in group projects but i still don't like them because my group did not listen to a lot of my ideas which i thought were pretty good. Probably the biggest fact I learned was how much lives were lost in the Vietnam and the Korean war and how stupid it was for the U.S to intervene. I think a good idea to improve this project would be to let people chose their own groups because that way I don't think their would be as much arguing because they would be working with friends. Overall, this project was a great learning experience.

The most enjoyable part of this project seeing all different points of views on world affairs. The most important skill that i learned is that you have to start working hard from day one. I do not feel very different about group projects because I never have any idea of who I will be working with and do not know how we will work together. I learned about how diligently a group must work to be successful.

Anonymous said...

Overall, I think my groups project was a success. The most enjoyable part of this project was editing with the group. The most important new skill I learned doing this project was communicating with the group. I am feeling more comfortable with group projects, because i feel like every time I do one I learn something new that'll help me with the next one. A fact that I learned from the project is that in total four planes were hijacked. To make this project better my group should've thought about the interviews earlier so we could've interviewed more important people.

Anonymous said...

I think my project turned out really well, everyone in my group used their strengths to help out with the overall project. I had a lot of fun putting my ideas out there and collaborating with my group, it was also very fun to make the video, but it was hard that no one else was able to contribute when literally putting the video together because it was only on my computer, but my partners really helped me put it together by giving me an exact outline on what to do, which made it much easier and took a lot of pressure off my shoulders. I learnt a lot of etiquette when talking to adults. I don't think this has had much of an effect on my comfortability while working in a group, but it has taught me how to successfully communicate with people when working on a project- a skill that will surely come in handy when I'm a working adult. I learned about how much of an affect 9/11 had on our country, our security and our everyday lives as American citizens. I think that if this project was a powerpoint it would be much easier, thus making the projects better because we could use Google Drive to create our projects, and we could all work on creating the final product. Or even if our videos could be shorter, like 3-4 minutes long, it would be less of a burden and more of a learning experience. In conclusion, this was a fun project, but I feel it would have been better if we could choose our own partners because, as 8th graders, we are responsible enough to know who we work well with and who we don't.

Anonymous said...

I relally liked this project a lot and I think it was a great idea as a project. The most enjoyable part of this project for me was the fact that I could create a movie to play instead of presenting a boring PowerPoint. The new skill I learned during this project was the ability to talk and interview people without being shy. I feel more comfortable with group projects because I was able to lift some of the stress off my back because everyone participated instead of just one person. One fact I learned during this project was that most of the recepints of humanitarian aid that we help, become our allies. Some things that could of made our project better are more interviews with different people and having better sound quality/ no fuzziness with some of our interviews.

Anonymous said...

I feel good about my groups project. In the beginning we started off a little rough, disagreeing on minor ideas but, by the end became a very functional group. I feel we were a bit rushed and could of done a lot of the work in advance. It was interesting to listen to different peoples ideas including Middle eastern woman and Robert's dad. I also felt that this project gave us a bit of leniency because we didn't have to take a quiz on the topic. Overall I think this project was good and we should have Documentaries more often.

I think our group did a great job on our video project. We worked together and really produced a great plan for the video. I think that our group could have gotten their interviews done earlier, so that editing everything in would not have been such a big effort as it was. I learned many more things about technology during this project. I did not know that iMovie could do half the things it actually can. I think I do feel a little bit more secure with group projects because now I know that communicating and making decisions as a team is vital to create a good end result; or in this case, a good video. I would not change how this video project was assigned, because each person in our group learned many things and saw the issue we talked about from many points of view. I think now most of us know a lot more about the USA's contribution to this world.

I feel confident about my groups project. I think the most enjoyable part in making this project was getting to hear one of the people we interviewed answers. He was really informational and the stuff he had to say was interesting. A new skill that I learned was how to work better in a group. We all communicated with each other. I am feeling better with group projects and I like them better now. I learned that communication is key. I think that our group could've made appointments for our interviews earlier.

1. The most enjoyable part of this project was being to collaborate and share my ideas with people I normally don't a get a chance too. Also, I got to show what I can bring to a group and what I can do to enhance a groups performance
2. A new skill that I learned during this project is how to communicate better with my group and be on the same page with my group.
3. Yes, I am feeling more comfortable with group project because now I know what to expect from them.
4. One thing that I think that my group could have done better as a whole was to not procrastinate as much as we did and get a head start on the project

The most enjoyable part of a group project is seeing the final product after realizeing how well your group was able to work. One of the most important things I learned about how to work in group projects was that you have to asighn roles so that it will work and because of this i feel way more comfortable in group projects. One important fact I have learned about researchimg and making this movie was it is really important to have someone to keep people focused. One thing that could have been done differently was making a thourough outline so that the process was easier and more organized

To me, the most enjoyable part of this project was being able to interview people. The new skill I have learned is how to build off of a basic guideline when interviewing someone. This skill is going to be very important in life, as you will encounter many more of these situations. I am feeling more and more comfortable with group projects as time progresses because I am doing more of them. Overall, I think this project was great and I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge from this experience.

The project started out great and slowly tapered downward. The most enjoyable part was interveiwing as I learned so much from other people. I did not really learna ny new skills during the project. I never realy like group projects, but think that if we had been able to choose our own partners the project would have been a lot better. I think that maybe the personality types within a group can be good or can be incredibly bad, when someone holds themselves as the most important member it really ruins the whole group. I think thta we could have gotten our interveiws in earliear so the editing could have started earlier.

Anonymous said...

I feel great about the project overall. This project is good to learn about people we'd never even think about. Throughout the project, I learned a lot about teamwork and how to manage our time. I think we should do a lot more group projects because it teaches us these qualities. I also learned how to set up professional presentations. It's a good start when you do business later on in life. However, in my group particularly, I just wish we were able to find better interviews.

The most enjoyable part of this project was working with my friends. The new skill i learned was how to work under pressure. I am better at group projects because i am good under pressure. While making the iMovie i learned we have many domestic issues. I would make the project better by choosing partners.

The most enjoyable part of the project for me was interviewing important people like the Chief of Police in Stamford. It was really interesting hearing about his point of view. A skill I learned during this project is not to procrastinate. Our group procrastinated a little at the start which made us work a lot harder at the end. I feel a little more comfortable working in groups now because I was able to learn how to work with different people that I have not worked with before. One fact I learned while working on this project was that during 9/11 people jumped out of the buildings because they couldn't stand the heat and fumes. One thing that my group could have done better is start interviewing people earlier. If we interviewed people earlier then we would have not been as rushed at the end.

Over all the most enjoyable part about my project was interviewing the for NYPD police officer. I liked hearing his point of view about intervening and also his experience in 9/11. A new skill that I learned while making the imovie was communication. I realized that without communication you will get nowhere!!!!!!! I feel comfortable with group projects but I don't think that doing this certain project changed my aspect on groups projects. One thing that I learned while doing this project was how the twin towers disintegrated and did not just topple over. That was probably one of the most impacting things that had happened since everyone who was in there while the buildings were coming down, had all been crushed. I think that there could have been a lot of things that could of made our group project better but one would be if everyone actually did their work that they were assigned. In the end I feel my group and I did the best we could in completing this project!!!!

I feel my project was good. i believe the most enjoyable part was working on the movie and cutting certain points out to make your side sound better. The new skill i learned was communication. This was really important because out side of school we had to talk about who was going to do what. I feel really comfortable with group projects because i like to work with other people.
